January 06, 2016SMTP Policy UpdateThis SMTP policy is effective immediately and will affect Cyclone Servers' VPS hosting and dedicated server hosting services.Due to our automation of server provisioning and the problems that bulk unsolicited commercial email (UCE), or otherwise "spam" has caused on our networks, we are implementing this policy to better preserve the integrity of our upstreams' networks.
SMTP packets and Port 25 outbound are now, by default, blocked for all of our users using network layer restrictions and IPTABLES and can only be enabled on a case-by-case basis by our technical engineers for each individual client. For new customers wishing to make use of SMTP, they will need to tick the box on our order form to confirm their understanding of our strict no spam policies, in addition to providing us information on the order form regarding their intentions for usage of SMTP. This information will be documented. In the event that your assigned IP address is blacklisted as a result of your usage and your usage alone, we reserve the right to provide your information to SpamHaus upon their request. For existing customers, if you have not already been approved for SMTP usage, then SMTP usage for you has been disabled and you will need to submit a ticket with the aforementioned to have it enabled for you. The same policies and procedures regarding documentation and privacy apply to you as well as new customers. If you are a reseller, you will not be held directly responsible for the actions of your end customers, however we ask for you to implement similar anti-spam policies in order to prevent spammers on our networks. If you are found in defiance of this policy, your reseller immunities may be revoked. If you have any questions, please submit a ticket for further assistance.Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.Best Regards,Cyclone Servers Abuse & Security
